I am elli micah, a Los Angeles based artist and designer whose work is guided by and grounded in my intuition. I believe in the power of showing up for yourself, as yourself. Representing yourself authentically is important because it is an active choice. I work to live wholeheartedly. That means having awareness of your intentions and actions, advocating for yourself and others, and knowing you get to decide how to show up. I wear an ampersand necklace that is a reminder that there is always more. More to create, more to learn, more to give, more to go. I create because it helps me show up as myself, and I hope my pieces help you show up as yourselves.

my why

why you?

My designs are for people who check in with themselves regularly and live wholeheartedly. I hope they serve as reminders for who you are and what you believe in. I hope they connect you more deeply with yourself. I hope they feel like home, or like found pieces for your collection. I hope they feel like they have always belonged to you, and that there are parts of you in them.

why the logo?

When I travel, I bring a pocket-sized sketchbook with a bag of pink pens attached to it. The only rule for this sketchbook is that it is all done in pink, so its pages are coated with ideas and doodles in varying shades. Before embellishing my first shoe, I was creating beaded flowers using wire. I remember having leftover wire and bending and twisting it without a vision, and watching it become a high heel. I put it in my altar in my closet among my crystals and journals, and let it sit there. Months later I pulled out my sketchbook and flipped to a new page, when I found a sketch of that wired shoe. The moment I saw it I realized I had already created the logo I had been searching for. When I got home, I pulled out the wire and the sketch and recreated it using Adobe Illustrator. I integrated an ā€œEā€ as the block of the heel, designing it to be read as uppercase or lowercase. My logo represents my beginning and honors the intuition that has guided me here.

why a studio?

I created a studio label because it represents a coveted space. A studio is a home for invited change, further expansion, and constant evolution. I am a mixed-media artist and am never working on only one project or piece at a time. I prioritize growth and adaptation in creativity and everyday life. Establishing myself as a studio allows both my work and myself to continue becoming.

why pink?

Pink is my favorite color, and more importantly, it is my comfort color. Six years ago I decided to start surrounding myself with pink, and it has changed my life. I see it everywhere, because I have put it everywhere. When I do I am reminded of my power, my intention, and my ability to show up for myself. Pink has become my neutral and serves as a reminder to remain present and grateful.
